Road to Machu Picchu

Beautiful land;
Beautiful people.

Peru is a dream;
beneath the clear blue sky veiled the most untainted people;
with the very little on their hands breed the greatest smile I ever seen.

At this moment, I recalled what He said:

“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them;
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

Love’s Course

A boatman crossing Yura Strait
Has lost his rudder, and the boat
Is drifting with uncertain fate;

Like love’s course, indeterminate.

Cape Point

This is where two oceans meet
– the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean on the west,
and the warmer Indian Ocean waters on the east.

Times that reflect both the oceans do not appear to be reconciled
But, do they eventually mix?
that’s depending the level of sediment and the whims of the water.

Likewise,

the meeting of two personalities is like the contact of
two chemical substances:
if there is any reaction, both are transformed.

The only difference is, I do not know what’s the level of sediment and the whims when comes to you.
Completely, clueless.

The sea answers all questions,
and always in the same way;

for when you read in the papers the interminable discussions
and the bickering
and the prognostications
and the turmoil, the disagreements
and the fateful decisions
and agreements
and the plans
and the programs
and the threats
and the counter threats,

then you close your eyes and the sea dispatches
one more big roller in the unbroken line since the beginning of the world
and it combs
and breaks
and returns foaming
and saying: “So soon?”
